My list of must see projects.

Dr Strange, Miss Sloane, Taboo, The Dark Tower and The Current War.

The last one could be the most intriguing - if it's done right. Done properly it could be the scientific version of Amadeus. However if it's a prefabricated Harvey Weinstein soap opera like The Imitation Game, it's gonna suck.

The film tells the story of the battle to control the electric light industry. Benedict Cumberbatch plays Thomas Edison, Michael Shannon plays George Westinghouse and Nicolas Hoult plays Nikola Tesla. The director is Alfonso Rejon who cut his teeth directing American Horror Story, his latest film; Me, Earl and the Dying Girl was a critical success. As of yet the crucial role of J.P Morgan has not been cast, but the director and the cast give me hope.

The Current War at first glance doesn't sound like something I'd be interested in, but the cast (Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Shannon, Nicholas Hoult, Tom Holland) gives me a flicker of intrigue.

I neglected to mention Silence by Martin Scorsese, a very big dark horse. The film stars Andrew Garfield and Liam Neeson, based on a Japanese novel about 16th Century Japan. It's Scorsese's passion project. It could be his absolute masterpiece or it could fall in line with his other passion projects (The Last Temptation of Christ, Kunduz) which weren't very good.

After Dr. Strange the next significant date on my list is Nov 25:

I also neglected to mention Denis Villeneuve's latest film Arrival. The director from La Belle Province is on a roll with films like Prisoners and Sicario.
