If Affleck is out for good, then they'll want someone comparatively young, someone who can get several more films in before he looks obviously middle-aged.

shareWell, sometimes it seems that any actor in the LA Basin can come up with a superhero bod, given a few months notice and a budget. There are expensive personal trainers who will make it happen, they'll supervise a client's diet, put them through a punishing exercise regimen, and maybe let them know where someone could find black-market steroids and human growth hormone. Marvel has got to keep these people on staff, not that all of their superheroes have "superhero bods" anyway.
But yeah, these films franchises can run for a decade or two, ideally they're going to want a new Batman who will still be hot in 10 or 20 years time. That's, uh, not a good fit for Jon Hamm.
