Is it just me or was he kinda unattractive before Dexter

Seriously I didn't realise he was from Six Feet Under as well until lately. Man he was so unhot then- kinda boring looking. What happen suddenly he's like pretty hot man (Dexter onwards)!

I could never get into David's button down look and David was always so uptight. He kind of reminded me of Tom Cruise...I mean the real Tom Cruise...everything under control, boring, bland...not hot.

Dexter loses control we can see every move he makes, we can see when he's naughty and when he's nice and Dexter used to have a sense of humor. That made Dexter sexy.

I don't think he was unanttractive. He was cute as David, but yes, he's so much hotter now.

I think it's maybe a combination of factors, like the attitude, the hair style, the age (he has aged really well) and even the clothes, where he can show his muscular body. And like MCH likes to say, Dexter is a "go getter", that's always attractive.

I saw him in a film yesterday. He was cute. The year may have been 2003? I've forgotten when it was made, Bereft? He was good but he just had a small part.

I hate that he will have a beard in Appomattax(sp).

carolmag, I absolutely agree with you. Funny how these lil factors make such a big big difference huh.

I actually haven't started watching Dexter yet. I just looked him up because I read an article about the difference between Michael C Hall's characters and for the life of me (believe it or not) I didnt realise that he was the same guy, ie Dexter and David. Yeah! LOL!

His spray tan does look real. But I doubt that a red head would actually spend much time in the sun.

I know what you mean. I think it had more to do with the character he was playing than how attractive his is. I watched Six Feet after I watching Dexter for a few seasons, so I thought his role on Six Feet was strange anyway (Dexter as a homosexual?? It was weird to me). After watching a few episodes, I stopped thinking "Dexter?" and really enjoyed the show. It was a great show.

Back to the topic at hand - in Six Feet, he was very uptight, always played by the rules, did the "right" thing. His clothes, even the slicked back hair - very conservative. The Dexter character is more relaxed, running around Florida in khakis/short sleeve shirts and doing what he wants to do. The character is also more open with what he's feeling (although he doesn't always understand how emotions and normal social interaction works!).

Both great shows!

Steppy412: You're right! Just goes to show what a goos actor he is isnt't it. I watched Six Feet Under when it played years ago but I have to admit that I haven't quite caught up to Dexter. I watched maybe one episode and it wasn't even from season one.

Dexter will be my next venture. I just wrapped the entire five seasons (and still playing) "The Big Bang Theory" and now am rewatching Battlestar Gallactica to refresh my memory coz I haven't watched season four. :)

UPDATE: I caught up with Dexter in June, I love love love it!!
