Career is dead

His performance in dexter up until season 4 was spot on, and he could've been in big blockbuster films but instead dexter went on longer than it should have and he became a joke, I feel bad for the guy who truly brought me into his performances.

MCH was fantastic as Dex throughout the show. He showed the world he was fantastic actor. He just needs that one good role in movies to cement himself permanently in movies

He was amazing as Dexter. I really wish he would be in more movies!!

And what exactly would he have played in "big blockbuster films"?

No need to feel bad for him: he's rich, famous, and been nominated for many awards.

I don't think there was a whole lot for him to do, due to the terrible writing post season 4/5. But during those first 4/5 seasons I thought he was a REALLY good actor. Especially in the start of season 5, where he was dealing with Rita's death, and the guilt because he could have prevented it. Just a really incredible performance, especially for a TV show. I thought he should be an A list actor in movies, but then again movies isn't where it's all at. He made a very good living being Dexter and continues to make a very good living on Broadway. Can't wait to see him there in June.

Inspite of a terrible last season, Michael's ended up in a new movie "Cold In July" that won raves at Sundance 2014. It got snapped up by IFC Films who also picked up Phillip Seymour Hoffman's "God's Pocket". The film is releasing on May 23rd with glowing Sundance reviews from Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Salon, Indiewire, etc.
This guy was never going to get the conventional leading man roles anyway. This trailer shows he's going about his career just the right away.

Somehow, I don't see it that way. I will see anything he does and I bet lots of other people will also. MCH may not have made it to the A list yet, but his career is far from dead.

In all honesty, I don't think Dexter ended badly because of Hall...clearly the producers and writers were dickheads (yes I know Hall was a producer).
