Wow her american accent is flawless !!

Actually she had the American accent down 100% right from the first episode of Six Feet Under.

The accent she has on Six Feet Under is an L.A. accent, BUT she does mess up on words like "marry," which she says like a New Yorker, Eastern New Englander, or...an Australian.

Yeah, I'm a new Six Feet Under fan, and knowing she is Australian from the get-go there are a few slips here and there when she's playing Brenda. Not bad though. Only a few words each episode. And the very "dead-sounding" California accent is great.

I didn't know she was Australian either until I saw her interviewed...

She may not say "marry" like someone from LA, but she certainly says it correctly! Most of the U.S. has this habit of pronouncing "marry" "merry" and "Mary" exactly the same way (same with "Harry" and "hairy"). These all have distinct pronunciations.

It's true, we Los Angelinos do pronounce "marry", "merry", and "Mary" the same!

You'll have to ask someone in person who knows. I can't spell the pronunciation, unless others of you out there know how to do it. Let's just say it does NOT sound like Mary OR merry!
