Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that David Gordon Green was said to be directing The Secret Life of Bees. He's no longer listed as the director of the movie. Anyone know what happened?

shareAccording to the man himself, he was actually "fired" from Secret Life of Bees. I forget the reason behind it, most likely creative differences between the producers and himself, but this was the answer he gave during a screening of All the Real Girls last summer.

shareAs of Jan. 2008 they're going through with Gina Prince-Bythewood, director of "Love and Basketball".
The cast includes Dakota Fanning, Paul Bettany, Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys...so on and so forth.
I for one am glad that Gordon Green has elected not to direct Fanning. I'm sure it would have been nice to see his adaptation of such a popular North Carolina-based novel.
