Up and coming comedy director

His first features were good indy flicks, but I wouldnt go as far as owning any of them. However, pineapple Express, Eastbound and down, and the upcoming Your Highness and The Sitter are all going to be classic comedies...

Am I the only person who will take a great comedy over an above average indy drama, any day of the week?

reply

Above average? I'd say they were better than that...

This thread makes me laugh, hard. His early movies were quite good. And it feels weird, and nice, saying "The guy who directed Pineapple Express has a movie released on the Criterion Collection"

I'm sorry.

Id rather pop in Pineapple Express, than Snow angels.

Yes, his early movies are well done. But the subject matter just isnt as interesting to me, as a good comedy. He fills a niche I need in that genre, that other comedy directors fail at. Gorden Green, Apatow, the guy who did Zombieland and Jody Hill are like the only comedy directors doing anything worth a *beep*

Pineapple Express is better than Undertow but not as fantastic as George Washington or All The Real Girls. Let's not pile up all his dramas and all his comedies together.

And Green has always had a weird sense of humor. All The Real Girls has plenty of laugh out loud moments, so does George Washington.
