David Gordon Green at Comic-Con '08 - Question I Asked Him Still Matters

So, I didn't mean any disrespect to him, and my question wasn't meant to reflect his change of genre. But looking back at the last 3 movies he's done, it totally makes sense that maybe I was onto something. At the Pineapple Express panel at Comic-Con '08, I asked David Gordon Green how he goes from making great, critically-acclaimed independent films to "this," meaning a pot comedy. Like I said, I didn't mean any disrespect but of course, some people in the crowd hissed and got mad. Looking back at the last 4 years, it's the only kind of movie he's been doing. The dude needs to get back to doing movies that will matter and not this dreck that people only watch once. I don't know, but I hate to be right, but I was right.
