What the Hell is Wrong With This Man?

I was browsing through his quotes on here in the quotes and bio and this one quote, besides the whole Kevin Smith bashing, puzzles me;

I was the first member of the second Blockbuster, apparently. They had two test shops when they first were getting going. For the longest time I thought I was the first member of Blockbuster ever...I wouldn't be caught dead in one now.

I know Blockbuster is now pretty much gone, but why on Earth would you be ashamed of something you are so proud of? "I thought I was the first member of Blockbuster ever". Is he special ed or what? Blockbuster, as well as pretty much every video store before it went the way of the dodo is pretty much what filled the dreams of this current generation of newer filmmakers. He seems to like burning bridges left and right with these quotes. Then again, I lost faith in this man after watching The Sitter. That was bad.
