I don't know about mark wahlberg but I said long before I saw tobey that Topher looks exactly how I imagined Spiderman to look. tobey is so ugly, I can't stand looking at him.

I remember watching the 1990's animated show and I remember watchin that 70's show and all I kept thinking was how much topher's character was n'sync with that version of spiderman, it was uncanny. Would'a been the perfect choice, but instead they casted someone without a pulse. *beep* Sam Raimi!

I agree. If Topher had been cast we'd get a Peter Parker who looks like he does in the comic and a Spidey who's funny instead of emo.

I thought the same thing too when I first saw him playing brock/venom.....because he would fit it perfectly, except one thing...his lankyness, hes got those outward feet, that just look funny when you run/walk, hard to explain...but if you watch that 70s show, or the movie in good company, ud know what i mean...he just doesnt have the physical leg structure to play spiderman...

Tobey has a boyish thing going & a pretty good actor. The problem with him is whenever he makes an angry face or expresses pain/effort, his face turns into this weird ugly thing. & it went by unnoticed until the Spidey films because until then, he was just doing sensitive non-angry characters.

Am I the only one that notices it? It's very weird & unsettling, his boyish nice features turn almost monstrous. He can utilize this actually & play 2-faced characters.

But I agree, Eric Forman pretty much had the Spiderman character going more so than Tobey. It would've been interesting to see him in the role. Plus he looks much younger, Tobey by the 3rd film was starting to show his age.

He could do what Tom Hardy did, maybe if he had a personal trainer he could bulk up a bit. Tobey was not fit before Spiderman, he was short too.

LoL, Tobey isn't the most handsome guy around I'll admit. Topher would be great as spidey, probably so good there wouldn't be an Andrew Garfield version.
