I did not see that at all in The Big Wedding and he had some extreme close ups in that movie.

They definitely do! It's very prominent in In Good Company; I can't speak for anything more recent. He also has a lot of space between his lower eyelids and his irises, which can be pretty off-putting.
I just looked at some of his pictures, and you're right. I have never noticed it until right now.
