Inarritu's films have started to get more commercial and mainstream

As he has gained popularity his films have become more commercial and mainstream

LOL uh duh.

Yeah ... but I don't see his artistic vision as having been compromised.

He is making high high quality pictures and the fact that viewers have tuned in a little more than they had before is nice I guess.

AGI is clearly making the pictures he wants to make and has been very consistent.

I hope so

You're right. I think this opinion could be affected by the fact that now he works with big stars like Leo and Norton, but the movies are still very original and caustic.

The problem with switching to bigger budgets is that the focus turns to getting the money first. I don't think Inarritu had as much of a say in casting in some of his later movies as he had in the past and that hinters the overall performance.

I think that could be true, but only as far as The Revenant goes. I felt like Birdman was all Iñarritu.
Tbh, I consider his first two movies, which might just be his most personal and intimate ones, to be his most flawed. They both show a director trying very hard to impress viewers with unnecessary complications, like the editing in 21 Grams, or the superfluous 3rd storyline in Amores Perros. He refined his style, he's having fun with his craft now, he's enjoying himself doing what he does, and, considering the success he's enjoying at the present moment, he's still delivering the goods. Not masterpieces, but definitely good movies. Well, Birdman IS a masterpiece, IMO, but I won't have that conversation again...
