I didn't know he was Foreign in Police Academy. But guessed so in Punky Brewster

I think because in Police Academy, his accent could just be a comedic voice.

But in Punky (which I just got on DVD for $2) I picked up that he was European, maybe German or something.

He was from Finland!

Pretty good English nonetheless.

He was born in Finland, but his parents were Dutch and Russian. His first language seems to have been French, although he lived all over the continent. I'm Dutch and I had no clue about his background, he even joined the Dutch Navy during WWII. I didn't even know he was not American, I'll have to pay attention to his accent next time I see him.

Are you good at picking English Speaking accents? I speak Spanish but I can only pick a few accents, like Argentine, Spanish and maybe Mexican.

I can distinguish several regional accents, I think.
