Ill-informed
He calls Batman Begins pretentious, yet he stars in something as god-awful as Doctor Who, Footballers' Wives and did The League of Gentlemen film. He should revise what work is credible (Batman Begins) and what isn't (Doctor Who)

shareTo be fair, Batman Begins wasn't the best of the Batman films.
And I think Doctor Who is very well done to be honest

Doctor Who is filmed in Wales-you are Welsh! Snap! Batman Begins was excellent and judging by its position in the IMDb top 250 and the universally positive reviews, you are like Gatiss, unfortunately, ill informed on Begins
shareWell we're all entitled to have different views on things, aren't we? If we all liked the same things life would be very dull.
As it happens I didn't enjoy Batman Begins either - I found it self-important and tedious, with dreadful performances from Christian Bale and Michael Caine. However, I respect that you feel differently. Unfortunately, you're on slightly shaky ground by backing up your argument with the fact that it must have been great because lots of people like it. Lots of people like "Doctor Who" as well, but this doesn't seem to have won you around to it being a quality piece of work.
I wouldn't get too worked up by it all if I were you.
Oh, and I'm not Welsh by the way. ;)
Just for the record, I don't just like Doctor Who because i'm Welsh. For a start, the majority of it is filmed in Cardiff and i'm in North Wales. Also, I like it for what it is and how it's made. We recently had a few of the people who make the costumes and do the make up or Doctor Who at my college and i was just so amazed by how everything is done.
Batman Begins, in my opiion, could have been a lot better than it was. I enjoyed the film, don't get me wrong, but I do think it went on a bit.

Doctor Who I find dreadful, Tennant tries to pull a serious face and it just breaks me into laughter. The effects are dreadful, the storylines feel monotonous and are tedious-same old same old.
Batman Begins is not just a brilliant comic book movie, it's a brilliant movie and howyou can say Bale was awful is dumbfounded, utterly dumbfounded and I'm not going to continue debating because Begins and Dr Who are incomparable, Begins is a better made piece of entertainment by far. Exciting, engrossing, things that Doctor Who aren't.
Yes but that's your opinion.
What Mark Gatiss said was his opinion.
At no point has he stated that what he said was fact.
Just like what you're saying isn't fact.
Tastes differ, deal with it

That's not a fact. That's your opinion. Lots of people find Doctor Who to be exciting and engrossing, myself included. I've found it engaging and addictive viewing since I was a child.
Doctor Who wasn't always made in Wales, it's only the last three series. The first twenty-six series were made in other parts of the country.
