SO sad.

Why is it that so many handsome and interesting men always turn out to be gay? I really don't care if he is gay and I hope he is happy, it is just that I find that some of the most interesting men that I have a lot of common with are usually my gay friends. I am not necessarily talking about him but it always seems that they are men that I would go out with, more romantically.

The only thing I can think of is because I find gay men to be very deep and they really love to have conversations about things and know much about any particular topic. I like that and I hope no one thinks I am putting him down at all, he is a very good writer and seems so nice, and the kind of man I would sit and talk to all day.

Personally, I think heterosexual men could learn a lot from homosexual men, at least here in the US. I totally adore my gay male friends because they pay attention and know when something is troubling and always say sensible things.

By some miracle, if you ever wanted to live on the other side, call me. lol.

In reference to your first point, I get the impression Mark is very happy. Whenever he talks about his husband, he talks about him with such love and adoration, they seem like such a really couple.

Oh no doubt. I hope he is very happy and I am not criticizing him or any same sex couple, I just want to know why is it that the most interesting men that I meet or think would be like to meet and talk to and actually have a good conversation are gay. It use to be said that a gay man is a woman's best friend and I think that is because these men show respect and treat their friends the way they should be treated. "Straight" men could learn a lot from gay men regarding how to treat their partner. I have always enjoyed these friendly documentaries that he does on film. Very interesting and informative.

He seems to be very, very happy with husband but trust me, I understand what you are saying. I have the same issue. Should would we start a club? :D

reply

Why not. What I am impressed with him about, not that he would really care, is his elegant way of presenting himself and that is seems very interesting as a person. I would love to meet him and talk about horror movies because he seems to have a lot to say and not just surface things, but more in depth insight that is very smart and well thought out.

My post was not in any way meant to be taken as anything negative at all. I am glad he is happy because everyone should be. But he is so interesting, polite, congenial and friendly and is the type of person that I would take an interest in as a friend or buddy. I said that in an "old joke fashion" that women say when they see someone they think is handsome or hot and he is gay, it is not a judgement it's more like a compliment like saying "if he was not gay, I would (and please forgive my bluntness especially regarding the caliber of man he seems to be) definitely do him. Or, in my case, be interested in him. However I know myself enough to say that if we found that we had things i common it would go no further than a friendship because I value my friendships very much. I do not mean to ramble but not everything is so easily explained in just a couple of sentences.

So, what do you think we should call our club? Ideas?
