The Street
Outstanding writing from Jimmy McGovern (as usual) and an incredible acting performance from Anna Friel in the latest episode of The Street (BBC) tonight. Worthy of inclusion when the tv gongs are handed out.

shareI watched it too and I believe Anna deserves an award. Fab.
"Why is love intensified by absence?".
I came here to say the exact same thing.
The scene at the school where she was begging for her sons to be accepted was truly heartbreaking. Haven't seen anything as emotionally raw as that on TV in a long time.
She should definitely get a BAFTA or an NTA nod.
I'm ****ing Irish. I'll deal with something being wrong for the rest of my life.
I've only discovered the show this series but have absolutely loved both episodes so far. Both Bob Hoskins and Anna Friel have been incredibly good - obviously the latter also includes the sex appeal.
shareI agree with all the above comments, she was fantastic as dee and definatley deserves an award.
shareI also enjoyed the show as I try to watch anything she is in. Fortunately, someone uploaded it on youtube. Hope they do the same for the next episode as I noticed "Dee" was in it also.
I cannot understand why Anna gets so much hate in these postings, as I find her wonderful.
And throughout all Eternity
I forgive you, you forgive me.'

Perhaps it's because they don't have her looks or talent or prospects.
I've just caught up with this episode (working my way through the DVD I hired). Yes she was excellent as I knew she would be. Shame she didn't get a BAFTA nod for it.
