'Harry the Horse'
In his autobiography Dave Davies of The Kinks mentions that he and brother Ray used to be part of a celebrity football team that also included actors Harry Fowler and Jess Conrad. According to Davies, Jess Conrad's nickname for Fowler was 'Harry the Horse' because 'he was hung like one'. I've never been able to look at Fowler in quite the same light after hearing that showbiz anecdote.
Apparently Harry was also good friends with Kenny Lynch, their exploits earning them the joint nickname 'Alcock and Brown'. I'm surprised that Harry was into football though, given that it sounds like he ran the risk of tripping over his own dick.
