Bruce Campbell-esque career(wasted potential)

Both of them are either known for cult movies or TV shows and appear to almost avoid anything popular. On the rare occasion that either one of them is in bigger stuff - like GOTG, The Suicide Squad, and Spiderman - their roles are so minimal that it's a joke. They are cameos, not supporting characters. It has to be intentional, because they both have charisma and a following.

I did laugh my ass off at his bit in The Suicide Squad though.

That's a good comparison actually. It's strange how guys like these two don't make it in Hollywood yet they try to push people like Taylor Lautner or Chris Klein as the next big deal.

I disagree after Firefly's one season Nathan was the lead in two TV shows Castle that went 8 seasons and The Rookie that will start its 5thg season. Neither of the them would be considered "cult" TV shows.
I can see that description applied to Campbell, when I see him the term "B-Movie" pops into my head.
