His prolonged absence is very curious. I have seen all the reports claiming he has been involved in failed projects which is why he has not added a credit to his filmography in almost 2 decades. His last critically acclaimed project Little Children was in 2006 and since then he has gone dark. But now it appears he is back with a new writing and directing project, Tuk, starring Cate Blanchett, about something close to his heart, music. Its all very strange for such an up and coming and talented filmmaker to have disappeared off the scene for so long.
