Larry Elder is a decent man and not an "idiot" or a "troll" at all. I just looked him up. He was unjustly and illegally disqualified from running in the 2021 recall election by California Secretary of State Shirley Weber. He was reinstated. He was maligned, slandered, libeled and ridiculed.
He lost because California is a blue state and Newsom is a polished politician who had a lot of support.
Larry Elder is a good man.
Obviously, he had no chance to beat Newsom in a head-on battle in liberal Democratic California.
So Elder used the bogus recall to slip in the back door. Sorry, not an honest way to seek public office.
I'm not a big fan of Newsom. But he did absolutely nothing to warrant a recall. It was a political hack job to even waste our time and money and put it on the ballot.
Elder may be a "good man". But he's a local media personality.
I'm merely saying, if he wants to hold public office, he should work his way up through the system.
He hasn't done that nor has he tried. He's too good for that. He expects to start at the top because he's a right wing firebrand.
He knows as a rare black conservative he can get publicity. So now he dares to waste everybody's time and run for President? He's only seeking to enrich himself.
He can't win. He knows he can't win the Republican nomination.
