Hope? 'BLACK PANTHER' in Development With Marvel Studios

Chiwetel Ejiofor is the best known actor for the title role. Most all of the other suggestions would be better as Killmonger. Time to start the internet chatter, folks. It worked with Christian Bale and could work here as well.

hmmmm...it looks appealing and certainly has an audience I'm sure...I just wonder if this is the direction he wants to take his career - action packed films and the like???

Who knows it might be, its worked wonders for Robert Downey Jr. -- whose resume is pretty diverse like Chiwetel's.

Roles like this pay the bills and broaden your portfolio. The smaller roles will still be there as well to do between blockbusters. Many actors have been doing that for decades.

Yeah DarthTigris, I wonder if he's considering it at all. It's not like he does a lot of this genre. Now that he's doing this film Savannah, AND Fela, it would certainly strengthen his range and give him box office clout.

It's ALL OVER the internet, him being a good choice to play Panther so it'll be interesting to see what he decides.

According to this interview he's considering this DarthTigris. It looks like it was done in '09 though--who knows what that means. But apparently nothings been signed on the dotted line, but he is aware of all the internet buzz which is awesome!

Replying to an earlier comment of yours Darth re roles paying bills/broadening portfolio. Yes fully agree some of the best actors around have done this and still work today unlike those who pigeonhole themselves. I really like this man, and this is where I've seen him in a mix of things big/small budget - not seen him in theatre mainly film and TV.

He did a fine job as The Operative in Serenity. That role showed me that he would be a great T'Challa (or is it T'Chilla? I could never keep it straight). The way he moves and speaks are just about perfect. That, and the fight scenes showed me that he can be trained to fight well on camera. He also has the chops to go one-on-one or one-on-group with anyone in the Avengers cast. And he's worked with Joss. As a fan and semi-former stuntman, I say he seems like the perfect pick to me!
