Awful in B vs S

Gotta disagree. Jesse did the best that he could with the godawful writing of Lex. In the comics Lex is always narcissistic with no empathy for anyone, a classic sociopath in other words. It's merely the fact that the movies have never been able to express his Lex-centric worldview by any other means than making him flamboyant and vainglorious that makes him come off as a one-note buffoon. The fact that Lex truly believed that his actions were ultimately altruistic is proof that he's completely removed from any common thought processes. The idea of such a person in such a position of power as Lex is truly frightening IMO, and Jesse nails that aspect of the character.

I think he acts a lot like The Joker in TDK. Same goofyness, cracking bad jokes, acting like an out of control child. But with an underlying quality of pure evil and complete disregard for all human life. Even his own.

I thought he was a standout in the film. Honesty thought he was amazing! It was hilarious.

Totally agree. All through the movie I was thinking he is trying too hard. I was ok with him being cast because he has a good resume behind him, but taking his performance in this movie on it's own, it's terrible.

what ISN'T he awful in?

Yeah he is really bad in this film. I thought I would hate Ben in it, but I really can't stand Jesse's acting in it.

I always thought he was terrible casting for the part, and every review and fan response I've read has confirmed my fears.



I really wish people would listen to me. I always seem to be uncannily right about these things.

Agreed, I thought he was the better part of the movie. His psychotic tendencies were actied nicely.
