Anyone else think he's similar to Michael Cera?

They have a similar acting style and both often play socially awkward characters.

This has been brought up a number of times before. Honestly, I don't see it. They don't look alike. Yes, they do both play neurotic character but Eisenberg's are usually darker characters in more dramatic roles while Cera's are more boy next door nerds.
Sure there's one or two films where I could see Cera playing Eisenberg's role (the criminally underrated Adventure Land or maybe 30 Minutes or Less)

the criminally underrated Adventure Land

Agreed, that's a very good film with a diverse and good group of cast members.

Do you need a bowman!?

reply

Yes when I turned on The social network, I thought in the first scene of the film it was Michael Cera.

criminally underrated Adventureland???

You're kidding right?! It's underrated for a good reason. The acting is god awful, none of the actors aside from Reynolds are even old enough to remember that time period. The story is so poorly developed it's ridiculous. There only 2 characters who were somewhat entertaining were the 2 from SNL and even their performances were kind of weak.

And just the simple fact that it has 2 of the most annoying actors in cinema history. Also, it's just plain not funny or entertaining to watch.

Well then you're a delusional person because they look nothing alike, at all. They don't sound alike, they don't look alike, they don't walk alike, they don't even have similar acting styles. Michael Cera has comedic rhythm, some range, and is charming. Jesse Eisenberg on the other hand has no range, isn't charming, and has no comedic rhythm.

Until recently I actually thought they were the same person. I’m not great with names, so I’d always be saying "wait, what’s that guys name?". Turns out the reason I was confused is they are supposedly two different people. I’m not sure I’m buying it.

I love you. You've put into words my exacts thouths of that movie. Also: it's a mlvie about nothing that tries to be hip because of its soundtrack.

I heard this a hundred times before. I guess I could understand why people mix them up. As the poster say, they play socially awkward characters most of the time, and they kind of gained fame around the same time. However, it is quite easy to differentiate the two now. Cera's career is in limbo, while Eisenberg's continues to thrive especially with Batman v. Superman coming out in a few months. I for one am baffled how he was chosen to play one of the most iconic villains of cinematic history, but I'm curious how he will handle it.
