His Broadway play raved about and sold out

The Spoils really is HIS play: writer and lead actor. My wife bought the tickets based on the NY Times review. A clever, stark, perfectly-cast, extremely funny and ultimately intensely moving play.

My wife didnt know who Jesse Eisenberg is, and I had no forewarning he was in it. I was lucky to first catch him in Adventureland where he had a likeable romantic story arc with Kristen Stewart. In other movies, he accepts to play with sharper elbows.

We'd see him again, and again, in stage parts anything like this, and based on the twists and turns of The Spoils we'd rate him a quite brilliant writer.

Lucky you. I saw his second play, The revisionist, with him and Vanessa Redgrave, during a trip to New York two years ago. It was really brilliant. I would like to see this one so much but I live in Europe and this time it's not possible. I have booked the script on Amazon and can't wait to read it.

The play's running is over.

Congrats to Jesse!

Chemistry between Eisenberg & @kunalnayyar is spectacular. E's character is loathsome. Takes courage to play. Enjoy #TheSpoils.

I love Redgrave, And I'm happy for the guy, He deserves it. Has he mentioned what his next play would be about?

reply

He usually makes a play every two years.
I know from old interviews that he has already written a musical, with also the songs (this guy's talent is boundless lol).
But I think it's likely that he is going to write something new.

P.S. I wonder why theatre things are non listed in IMDB.

reply

OMG, I want to watch a Jesse Eisenberg musical. He better do that next. lol

I wonder why theatre things are non listed in IMDB.
IMDb's only for Film & Television. Do you know any sites like IMDb for Theatre?

reply

No, sorry.

In the meantime I have found the title of the musical: ME TIME.

Here you are a Jesse's quote about the musical
What happened to Me Time, your musical “satire about self-indulgence”? Are you still writing it?
I did readings for years with Alex Timbers directing. And then Alex got very busy with his stuff, and I got busy with my stuff, and it kind of fell by the wayside—although I want to get back to it. I really like it; it’s very funny, and there are good songs. I imagine it’s the kind of thing that I’ll end up having to put on myself in my living room or something. I can’t imagine anybody would want to produce it. 😀

If I had the resources, I'd produce it. 
And thanks for sharing, I really hope he gets around to making it. It would be incredible.

Great.
Otherwise we could see it in Jesse's living room. 😀
