I like him, but he's a bad guy 9/10 times...

Why is it that he's constantly the bad guy in almost everything? The first thing I saw him in and the only thing I've seen him in where he wasn't a villain was The Unit. He's played a murderer on Castle and The Mentalist, as well as a thieving scumbag in Burn Notice, and a corrupt FBI agent on White Collar. Why isn't he the good guy and a regular in more things?

He was a good guy in Saving Private Ryan and I think he was a cop though perhaps a struggling cop in DaVinci's Inquest. His gruff voice lends itself to gruff characters. He makes a good living at it. He could play a lawyer probably. Or a politician if he wasn't so buff. Yeah that's another reason I guess he plays bad guys. They have to be in shape to beat people up and run away.
