I just figured out that Max and I went to same High School (St Michael's University School in Victoria, BC). He was in Grade 8 when I graduated in 1983. I had always heard that Stuart Margolin's son was at the school, but, didn't know his name would be different (duh!). The previous year I was in high school with Guy Pierce in Australia (a year behind me).
Never knew either of these guys! I should have made friends with them. Oh well...
I went to school with him in Fort Worth, Texas in 1984/1985. We were very good friends (he was staying with family in Fort Worth that year). The guy was hilarious. I won't disagrace his name by going into details about all the hijinx he and I got up to, but let's say a lot of it involved BEER. ;-)
I knew his step dad was an actor on the Rockford Files, but we really never talked about it, although some of the teachers found it interesting---it embarrassed him more than anything. We played football together, and in between two-a-days we would go to Kroger, scarf down some donuts, and then hop the fence of one our friend's houses and go swimming for the afternoon. I was SHOCKED when I found out he had become an actor. He never mentioned any interest in it, but I guess when you are 15 you have other things on your mind then your career.
