I had no idea that this actor had passed away. Seen him in so many films such as Sudden Impact, The Way We Were, Escape from the Planet of the Apes, The bridge at Remagen and that B-movie classic Piranha. Never made it to the
A list, but was a good supporting actor that you always noticed. Memorable scenes in The Enforcer between him and Clint Eastwood as Captain McKay and Dirty Harry.

I'll see the names of actors like this that I haven't thought of in ages but he was a solid actor in the 60's,70's and 80's. I didn't know he'd died either. But this seems to happen with those that retired years ago and few younger people even know who they are.
