He doesn't look 44, probably more like mid 30's. He's just aged really well, surprised that he's only really had success acting in the last few years.

Agreed, and he is closer to 47 now...i just starting watching Raising HOpe, and im shocked at how young he looks for his age, i would guess he was about 35-37... Good looking man too, and very funny on the show.
I also just got into Raising Hope and find that he is hilarious on the show (and so nice on the eyes!) I can't wait until he gets his "breakout" role and dominates Hollywood. I haven't seen him in much else yet (a few small movie roles here and there) but everything I've seen has been so different from one character to the next. And he can do comedy very well.

I just started watching Raising Hope and for the longest time, I thought his character was the main character's dim-witted older brother, and Martha Plimpton played his mother. I was shocked to learn that the actor was actually older than Plimpton and that the character was really Virginia's husband.
