Raising Hope saved this guy

I have seen this guy as a guest star on various shows and every single time, I would think he was rather ugly and definitely unlikable. But after watching the first episode of Raising Hope, I changed my mind completely. I now find him funny, hot as hell and very pleasant. I think the comedic role brought the best out of him and helped him shine.

I agree in full.

I first noticed him on Sarah Connors and didn’t really like him because he was so “frowny” and intense (which I guess shows what a good job he did). I was impressed when I started noticing him everywhere but continued to think of him in terms of the serious, dramatic characters he played. But on Hope, he comes across as very different and quite sweet and likable (but then, so do all the other characters which is what makes the show so endearing).

This show proved he has a very physical, comedic side to him as a versatile actor.

Wow, you guys are way off. The guy was impressive in everything, from small roles in Deadwood, Winter's Bone and No Country... all the way to "big" roles in Deadwood ( again, s2 ) and Last House On The Left. I happen to think he's one of the most promising actors around and the upcoming years will prove me right.

Yep, he's always been fantastic. I started watching Saving Hope because of him.

Boo hoo hoo, there's girls on my show. I'm taking my balls and going home.

Agreed, cockeye. He didn't need saving. HOPE is just another example of his versatility and expertise. Couldn't be happier for the guy, and I will enjoy watching him in whatever he does for years and years.

I remember thinking Dillahunt was such a strange choice for this off-beat comedy because I was so used to only seeing him playing psychos and serial killers. Boy was I wrong! He's hilarious! His befuddled, slightly criminal yet well-meaning Burt is one of the main reasons I watch the show now.
