Zooey as songwriter

While singing, Zooey Deschanel (Our lemur-eyed Goddess!) has sang a lot of cover songs
Like that one in "Elf"
"Baby It's Cold Outside' with Leon Redbone (done in '49 by many duos)

Then as part of her own She & Him (Matt Ward)
On She and Him 1 (self-titled each album with the addition of sequential numbers a la the bulk of Chicago';s only with 1,2,etc. rather than Roman numerals-e.g.I,I)
the traditionally public domain "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot"
"You Really Got a Hold on Me"-Temptations
"I Should have Known Better-Beatles

She and Him 2:
"Gonna Get Along without You now"-Patience/Prudence
"Ridin' in my Cr"-NRBQ (New Rhythm/Blues Quartet/Quintet)

But more noticably are the dominant of Zooey's OWN songs on both these and her other albums,

And in "Yes Man"
the songs co-ritten by Zooey with Munchhausen by Proxy, an ad hoc group created just for the flick..
title song
"Keystar"
"Uh Huh"
"Sweet Ballad"(this sounds like a description, not a song title)

Plus there's the partly self-written "New Girl" theme.

But also the ENTIRELY self written Deschanel songs often (esp.by haters) overloooked

On She and him 1
the opening track Why Do you Let me Stay here?

She and Him 2
I'm gonna make it better
Don't look back

and others...Zooey is just as good a songwriter as singer and her 100% own songs rank up with the excellent covers or partially self-written (with others)..

Amanda Bynes is hot and Lindsay Lohan is not.
