'LOST' Australians

Does anyone else think it's weird that the plane that crashes on the island in LOST departed from Australia, and Emilie plays the only Australian survivor. Out of the 50 or so people that survive I would think there would have to be more than one Australian.

It's like discovering plutonium... BY ACCIDENT!!

Yes! I'm watching the series again from the start and it's so unbelievable that apart from the flight attendant that was only in a few episodes Claire is the only Australian we know of as a survivor. A bit weird.
