I saw her performance as the mayor in Law Abiding Citizen. Personally, I hated her more than any other person in that movie and I wish she had been killed.
That being said, why is she such a popular actress?

shareDid you hate her or the character? People often confuse the two. I've loved her in the few things I've seen her in and if she were to play a character I wanted to kill that would be just another sign of her amazing talent.
If you really don't get why people like her you might try watching other works she is in. I personally thought she was excellent in Doubt. She had a small role and yet she stands out. Also, United States of Tara.
I also think she is extremely sexy.

The OP should realize that you can't judge an actor or actress by just one film. Check the films the IMDb lists as the ones she's best known for and then see whether you like her or not. And certainly go out and see THE HELP...there's Oscar buzz already for her role in that.
