Plays a really good retarded pedophile in 'Prisoners'

I think Paul Dano has found his calling -- no one plays a retarded, child-abducting pedophile quite like this guy does. If there was an Oscar for an actor who can babble incoherently, drool on himself and flash a creepy pedosmile, Paul Dano would have that category on lock.

And the way he mewls when Hugh Jackman beats the piss out of him for half the movie...magnificent! Dano really knows how to give life to the anguished cries of a mentally stunted child molester.

Is he getting typecasted or is this a choice? All he seems to play is retarded, creeps, weirdos, fantatics... He's getting the most out of that punchable face.

Did you actually watch the movie, OP?

Not sure why there seems to be such a hatred for this guy.

Whether he is typecast or not, he usually turns in a good performance.

He's a damn fine actor and his performance in "Prisoners" proves it once again. I smell an Oscar nomination for him one of these movies. BTW, I'm no actor, but I'd imagine it's twice as hard to play these wierd, retarded guy roles than sane ones.
