Johnny Crawford in Need of Assistance: Fund

Whether you enjoyed or even saw The Rifleman, Johnny Crawford and his brother Robert Crawford Jr. are some of the kindest people anyone could ever meet! It was one of the thrills of my life to be able to tell Johnny Crawford that The Rifleman was the first show I ever saw the day we finally got a TV set which worked, and I watched it for years. I hung out for hours with them at the final (so far) Festival of the West and they were friendly and extremely concerned, to the point of driving me to where I could catch a ride back to my hotel and saying they wished they could do more! Johnny's wife is also a wonderful sweet person. I cherish a photograph signed by them both. My love and concern flows out to them and I would urge everyone to donate anything they can.

Sorry, I failed to make the link clickable before and have fixed that. It tells what. Johnny Crawford has Alzheimer's and is in a care facility. No matter how much money a family currently has or may have had at one time, medical care is obscenely expensive and so through a fund started by a friend the family is asking for help.

Have you clicked on the link

This turned up among ads at the side of my inbox, presumably as Facebook tracks one's every move and noticed that I had mentioned Johnny Crawford. It is clickbait but contained some interesting facts I didn't know, including a picture of Johnny and Bobby Crawford with Fred Astaire which I hadn't seen or known about. To think of Fred Astaire occupying the place between them which I did in the picture of us is awe-inspiring. Think of the one-degrees! I also didn't know that Chuck Connors smoked only one cigarette on the series. I had the pleasure at a Q & A of informing Robert Fuller that as Jess Harper he also smoked only one cigarette in Laramie, in the pilot, and that when Robert Conrad once smoked a cigarette in an early episode of The Wild, Wild West, the outcry from parents was so great he never did again.
