Collector of iconic horror, sci-fi and fantasy props and costumes, which he now displays in a museum
Collector's Call, a MeTv series hosted by actress Lisa Whelchel (The Facts of Life), Oct 27, 2024:
Rich Correll was a young actor appearing on Leave It to Beaver, shooting at Universal. He and Jerry Mathers loved horror movies and went to the studio's makeup lab to look around. A mask from Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was in a trash can, so they let him take it in 1960.
This started a collection of hundreds of iconic horror, sci-fi and fantasy props and costumes, which he now displays in a museum. Rich Correll became a producer and director.
He paid $87,000 for the Darth Maul costume and mask used in Star Wars: Ep I. The Doc Brown costume and remote from Back to the Future, which is on a wax figure of Christopher Lloyd, cost him $18,000. He has dinosaur suits from the first three Jurassic Park movies and the first monster suits from the Alien movies. He has Heath Ledger's Joker costume from the Dark Knight movie.
