ONE MAN, TWO GUV'NORS--brilliant! Why all the JC hate?

1. I wonder why the National Theatre broadcast of ONE MAN, TWO GUV'NORS is not listed here at imdb. One of the best things I saw in a movie house this past year.

2. James Corden was brilliant in that play, and will likely have a great triumph when it plays on Broadway shortly.

3. James Corden did a fine job in the wonderful movie version of THE HISTORY BOYS.

4. I don't know much about this actor, beyond the two properties I mentioned, so would really be interested in someone explaining, with clear examples and citing real occurrences, what causes such vilification of James Corden (and please leave his weight/body image out of it, as that should play no part in whether someone is or is not a 'worthy' person--whatever that might be).

because this doesnt list people theater productions. Just their filmography which is things they have done on screen.

From my personal opinion, James is a competent actor as you've listed.

This is my major problem:
He co-wrote and starred in Gavin & Stacey, which was a situation comedy, where he was required to act. Fair enough.

Some idiot(s) at the BBC who don't know the difference between actors and comedians, gave James Corden and Matthew Horne their own comedy sketch show (at one point hailing them as the new Morecambe & Wise) which was dire beyond conception. Some of the 'fat' comments originate from this show as he regularly got his belly out and wobbled it for laughs. They also did that Lesbian Vampires movie, which I haven't seen, but also got panned.

James Corden then appears on various panel shows hailed as a 'comedian' to which he seemed to have believed the hype and started acting in an idiotic, annoying way which he thought was amusing (see Quiz of The Year or F1 interview with Boris Becker when he sneaked up). I also didn't get what the hype was over his 'Smithy Comic Relief Sketch' which was a rip-off of the Jimmy Kimmel sketch "Handsome Men's Club".

I don't hate the guy, I just hate the way he's been sold as a comedian when he's clearly not funny. He should, and maybe has, realised he's not a comedian and stick to straight acting.

"Well she turned me in to a newt!... I got better."
