I don't know if he's known well enough here to host the Late Late show.

I've seen him in several British shows and movies, he seems like a funny enough guy and nice too, I'm pretty sure there will be a big difference between his version of the show and Ferguson's but do enough people know Corden? Ferguson I think most people just knew as the boss from the Drew Carrey show back in the late 90s, but besides anyone who has watched Into The Woods or The Wrong Mans on Hulu, will anyone here know him?

I just heard of James Corden today. I had no idea who Conan O'Brien was when he first took over Dave Letterman's vacant NBC late night spot in the early 1990s...

Nobody was more surprised than me that Conan seemed like he had been hosting a talk show for years and I watched his show regularly throughout the '90s.

I look forward to what Corden can do.

If they wanted someone English they should have tried to get Jonathan Ross. He's about as quick-witted as they come and he doesn't seem to be anywhere near as fake as Corden.
