Wouldn't surprise me if the directors have her slouch forward a little... That could also be a 'trick' to keep the camera focus more even for her. I obviously don't know about TV lenses specifically, but 'typical' camera lenses have a shallow depth-of-field for the focus, and a matter of a couple inches determines whether the focus is crisp (desirable most of the time), or fuzzy in a lot of the frame. Portrait photography of a face normally puts the sharp focus on the bridge of the nose so the eyes are sharply in focus (puts the "light in the eyes" to make them highlighted).
IMHO, she has beautiful eyes. Just saying.
If she is aware of such things, (and that is a part of her profession), it should help her on-camera appearance to keep the focus as good as it can be made. Actors have "marks" for scenes that are measured for focus, and are expected to "hit their marks" when in scenes, and delivering lines. That allows the chosen character(s) to be prominent in the scene with the best focus, and the other characters would be less prominent, and less in focus. She does play an artist, and probably leans forward to do that work, so it would fit her character on BONES. Also, but somewhat crassly stated, if a woman pulls her shoulders back, her chest sticks out, and that is not always desirable.
Did you think the hardest part of an acting career was looking good or remembering the lines? There is a lot more required...
