Her Nails

Does anyone ever notice on the show when her hands are seen close up, it looks like she bites her fingernails? Or are we not seeing her actual hands in those shots?

It doesn't bother me, it's just a thing I noticed.

No. She keeps them short, as do all we professional women who type and use digital equipment. It's likely she gets regular professional manicures in her profession as a television actress, especially before her hands are shown in shot. Do you think nail-bitten hands would be shown on television when HDTV shows everything? Her hands are lovely and her nails are strong and well-shaped.

As someone who works in the entertainment industry, I can tell you it is almost always someone else's hands in a close up. 9 times outta 10 it's not the actor's

I've wondered about that. I think you're probably right.

But why is that? Is it because they think the person has ugly hands so they use someone else's?

reply

Um...Why not? I could understand if they wanted to add a shot and the actor wasn't available, but otherwise...

It's a time saver, they usually pick an extra (which is what I am in the industry) that has hands that look similar to the actors and it gives them the time to get the shot the way they want it while the actor can be actually doing scenes. And the person gets paid more to do it too

So Joey Tribbiani's hand twin thing was a real possibility? Except, of course, Joey wasn't a star.
