Did she try to outlaw vitamins?
Her health care plan called for vitamins and supplements to be regulated like drugs whereby they have to go through decade long approval processes that cost billions. Drug companies do this as a barrier to entry for competition. Vitamins have that warming label on the jar that says "This product is not intended to treat any medical conditions". That was a compromise exemption given to them that many people would like to see erased. If you look at the price of fish oil with a presecritpion versus fish oil over the counter, you can get the same product and the markup is about 1000%.
The same thing could be true with birth control pills if we allowed those to be sold over the counter. Republicans are demonized for being against birth control pills, but it was actually a Republican attempt to legalize birth control pills over the counter and Democrats who voted it down. Democrats wanted the price to be high so that we would be dependent on insurance coverage of them through Obamacare.
Democrats also pushed against legislation that would legalize allowing terminally ill patients to try experiemental drugs, drugs not yet approved by the FDA. These are the policies that keep prices high and choices low.
Pharmaceutical corporations donated more money to Hillary's campaign than to any other candidate ever, and more to her than to all other candidates combined in that election.
