Some of the grey is real, so I think sometimes they're just being inconsistent with the added on grey :P

I love the grey and the beard, but if he got rid of both, I wouldn't complain :) I'm right with ya, he's hot regardless :D

I like the grey because it represents the passage of time for the characters with the 5 year jump.

Also if you watch Season 6 of 24, one of the Characters, CTU Director Bill Buchanan has the ever changing hair color as well from scene to scene.
