Amazon does not have the temperament to do Warhammer properly. In the Warhammer universe pretty much everyone is a villain. Most for obvious reasons but even the Impirium "good guys" are so damn evil. Their vast warp ships need millions of slaves to tend to their dangerous engines. They drop out of warp to find populated planets to grab new slaves by the millions to replace the ones that died in droves in the engine levels and even the ones that died from the innate perils of warp travel. The captain gets data on crew casualties from mere space travel and will nod acceptance at losses below 5000.

The lore is engrossing but is about a universe where individual value is completely lacking. I don't think Amazon will write a story like that. And thus, it won't be Warhammer. Instead of stark brutality, there will be romance and probably symbolic emotional social commentary. I would very much like to be wrong about this.

Perhaps; and only time will tell.

Given that the primary goal of every current streaming platform is to release as many tv-series as fast as possible means that they will likely suffer in quality. I try not to have negative or positive expectations about any content so that I'm not too disappointed and enjoy the "surprise" if/when possible.

I think Cavill has done a decent job with all the roles he has portrayed and I see no indication that it will be any different with W40K.

I have liked Cavil even in bad films. He is/was a good Superman in spite of movie quality.

I thought his performance in Man From UNCLE was excellent and it is a shame that he won't be the next Bond.

Cavill is an actual 40K fan who paints the miniatures and plays tabletop, and he's going to have creative control of the series. So you should at least have some hope that it'll be decent. This is a guy who's such a fan of the Witcher games and books that he kept defying the writers and producers by making last minute changes in an attempt to stop them from fucking up the show. If 40K fails with someone like him at the helm then you can probably rule out a good 40K series or movie ever being made.
