Huge fan, but his post-Office films are disappointing...

His films before and during the Office were overall well done comedies that added to his fame. His films since leaving The Office are more serious and lower quality flicks (Crazy, Stupid Love and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World), which make me wonder why he left The Office and is resisting a re-appearance.

I think he, like Jim Carrey, should stick to comedy with characters that are mainly funny and a little sad/pathetic. When the whole film becomes him portraying a character that is mainly sad/pathetic and a little funny it doesn't work.

I hope he can turn it around with his next film Burt Wonderstone, but I think he is also doing another 'serious' film playing a psychotic/murderer.

“Which make me wonder why he left The Office and is resisting a re-appearance”.

Because his films were successful so he decided to leave TV, and continue with his film career.

Besides what’s wrong with doing something different? Every actor should try it.

Also Crazy Stupid Love was well received.

How much longer do I have to wait?

I liked both Crazy, Stupid, Love and Seeking a Friend. They were funny and dramatic. He's got range. He is always kind of awkward/goofy, but he can do that within a drama. Why limit himself to a TV show that got stale about 5 years ago?

Crazy Stupid Love was amazing and fun but Seeking a friend was good but so depressing! Anyways he has a good career and wants to grow away from the Michael scott role

Lol, yeah sad to see he concluded probably the role of his career without really needing to do so...

He got out right in time, he left as soon as the writing started to go downhill leaving his character's legacy completely unscathed, good move.

I thought crazy stupid love was great, I didn't see the other one, either way give him some time, that's only two movies.

But what's this got to do with the CIO?

Totally agree. When I see him in Dan in Real Life, Little Miss Sunshine Crazy/Stupid Love, I think he could have a very versatile career but the timing is key. When he left The Office he needed some very solid films to keep his momentum and it feels like his recent choices have been all wrong.
