Oh, a nomination at the very least. Both she and Deborah Kerr were brilliant, especially in that unforgettable ending - Black Narcissus should have swept the board that year.

Best Actress: Loretta Young, The Farmers Daughter
Best Supporting Actress: Celeste Holm, Gentlemen's Agreement
I cannot remember seeing either film.

Black Narcissus did win:
Best Cinematography, Color - Jack Cardiff
Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Color - Alfred Junge
