Good Man. Bad President
I think he's a decent man that was just unequipped to be President and surronded himself with horrible people which made his presidency a disaster. Seems like a cool guy to chill and have a beer with though.

shareThat’s the vibe I get from him too. Not a bad human being, actually quite intelligent, witty, and well spoken when not under pressure. I think he was very unorganized and didn’t handle most of his presidency right.
shareIt would be interesting to know how things would've gone, and how he would be remembered, if 9/11 had never happened. It's certainly inarguable that that one event colored his entire presidency.
shareThere's a Rolling Stone cover story that calls him the dumbest president ever.
shareOh, so he's actually pretty intelligent. . .
shareHe was not a good public speaker and he did not handle pressure very well. But his IQ is obviously much higher than Trump, Clinton, or Biden.
share"Dumbest president ever" when Carter had already been in office? Seriously? Just goes to show how fucking clueless Rolling Stone is.
shareGood man?! Do you realize you are talking about a man who made up a lie about WMDs to invade a country, resulting in the death and displacement of millions? If there were any justice in the world, he would be tried for his war crimes.
shareLiar.
share^^^^^ Tearoflys was paying attention.
shareIn the interest of educating a few lemmings.
“Earlier today, I ordered America's armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. They are joined by British forces. Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors.” - President Bill Clinton address to the nation 1997
Nice. People remember what they want to remember. In fact they outright forget in as little as a week or rewrite history in their minds. Sadly they now post erroneous shit online and some people think its fact...
shareMore sadly it’s the Democrat media creating and reporting it. It was twice a week for 4 years with Trump.
shareWhile i agree the media pounced on Trump pretty quickly....he didn't do himself any favors posting on Twitter several times a day with embellishments or outright fabrications or erroneous facts. He opened himself up to constant daily ridicule. He gave dems the ammunition they needs on a silver platter. Plus his declaration last summer that it would be voter fraud if he lost the election and than actually continue to use that after he lost was not a good look. Than Jan 6th.
He should have restrained from all of that. If he didnt post everyday and toned down that rhetoric in 2019 he would have won easily last year. But he refused to do so and here we are.
I hope we finally get candidates that are worthy of the office next time. The last few elections have been disasters when it concerns candidates.
How do you (gd150) expect people on the other side to respect your opinion when you seem delighted to engage in name-calling?
shareThe intelligence agencies of most, of not all, UN members concurred WMDs were in Iraq. Sadam also claimed he had WMDs.
If you say Bush believed the lie the whole world was telling him and that was a mistake, that would be accurate.

I initially supported the war because of Colin Powell's presentation. I thought his integrity would prevent him from lying ; I was fooled. The war a horrendous mistake with plenty of blame to go around, internationally.
Years later I read the novel and saw the film OUR MAN IN HAVANA. It helped me understand why the various intelligence agencies were wrong or lied.
"a man who made up a lie about WMDs "
When Clinton was President he said Saddam had WMDs. The intelligence agencies of most, if not all, nations said Saddam had WMDs. That's whole another discussion (see Our Man in Havana and The Tailor of Panama).
Bush was operating on conventional wisdom that was wrong and most likely a lie.
Your statement is blatantly ignorant.
well, what you are suggesting is that top advisors to the President were intentionally lying to him. In my humble opinion, they should be lined up against a wall and be shot for treason.
shareAre saying this is not a true statement:
"When Clinton was President he said Saddam had WMDs. The intelligence agencies of most, if not all, nations said Saddam had WMDs."?
He was a bad president for sure, but he did duck that shoe like a boss. Gotta give him credit for that.
shareSi, un hombre muy bueno
https://www.chicagotribune.com/chinews-mtblog-2007-06-bush_ill_see_you_at_the_immigr-story.html
Yet the president insisted that even a vote of no confidence from the Senate would not undermine his own support for his attorney general, and maintained that he still can win passage of immigration reform.
."I'll see you at the bill signing,''
He was a great president. Iraq misstep or not he (and maybe Obama) were the last two presidents that were actually presidential. Now we get a bunch of finger pointing drama queens....smh...
shareHe was useless and blamed for high gas prices. High gas prices upset the economy. He should've been voted out. The only good thing of him is against Donald Trump as president.
shareYou are a Moron if you think gas started to go up during Bushes tenure.....what where you TEN YEARS OLD in 2000?? Because I have news for you Pal. Gas prices started going up in early 2000. They hit well over $1.40 that year...I was 29. I had been driving for 11 years at that point and it was the highest I had paid for gas. I had not paid more than 1.25 before that time. Gas continued to go up that year and the next, decrease a bit and went up again. But it NEVER went below or at $1 again until the pandemic. I dont forget shit like this. Read up on it you will see I'm pretty close...
But yet for some reason, Bush gets the blame. Lmao
I was 18 then. George Bush is blamed for high gas prices because he's an oil man.
shareBut gas was going to record highs during Clinton. It's all started in 2000. Not 2001....look at pricing data and you will see I am right. The fact that the bush family were into oil has ZERO to do with it...nice try though...😂😂
shareI am unable to get driving lessons with having a learner's permit. Maybe George Bush is not to blame but it's a state matter. There's a waiting list for behind the wheel on the private driving schools in the past couple of decades but a longer waiting list for special needs people. I have a learning difference but also of high functioning autism. So many of you years ago didn't realize a waiting list for behind the wheel. Dick Cheney is a bad person. He's the real problem with George W. Bush as president.
shareDick Cheney had his issues. Yes. I was not a big fan of his. But I do like George W. Always have and always will....
After 20 years and the age of 38 you still don't have a license???
I had one driving lesson before and it's common sense to do the behind the wheel with a learner's permit before driving. There are many adults with autism and other special needs not driving. I was looking 20's throughout my 30's.
shareOh ok. I have a friend with Aspergers...he does drive but he has a bit of a short attention sometimes. He used to cry over the smallest things when I first met him. He was 21. I told him he needed to watch John Wayne and Clint Eastwood films to toughen up a bit. Now hes In his mid 30's and his girlfriend blames me for him being a bit of an asshole sometimes. Haha. I told her my intent was to make him less sensitive not an asshole. At any rate hes come a long way....
shareGeorge Bush was useless. The government and oil companies are both to blame for gas prices ridiculous. Donald J. Trump is the worst president in my life. So glade he's out of office.
shareWell I like Geroge w. He never pointed fingers, did what he said he was gonna do. As for Trump...not a huge fan...
shareThe one unforgivable thing he did was enacting the PATRIOT Act. I voted for him, but that really sucked. It was un-American and has done a lot to lead to the government surveillance state we're living in today.
shareI don't think he was a good president. I think he ran because people expected him to and were dazzled by the prospect of a 'presidents son'. The Texas Governor is a figurehead job. He had very little power and was underequipped for the job. He's probably personally nice but he was not ready for the job.
Yes whether by intention or by being fooled he was a swamp creature. I agree that he seems nice, but I believe he stands by his decisions while POTUS.
shareI like him too
shareThe man was a complete cad, a self-entitled little rich boy that inherited everything. Don't forget that he won the presidency by cheating. Read "Stupid White Men" by Michael Moore.
shareThe title is racist and demeaning. Why would I read that?
shareThe last thing it is is racist.
It reveals - among other things - how 'President' Bush stole an election aided only by his brother, cousin and dad's cronies, electoral fraud and tame judges; how the rich stay rich while forcing the rest of us to live in economic fear; and how politicians have whored themselves to big business.
Whether he's calling for United Nations action to overthrow the Bush Family Junta, calling on African-Americans to place whites-only signs over the entrances of unfriendly businesses, or praying that Jesse Helms will get kissed by a man, Stupid White Men is Michael Moore's Manifesto on Malfeasance and Mediocrity.
OK. The title, I said, is racist, sexist and demeaning. It is whether or not you care t recognize it. I won't read that, and I have been less than impressed with the work of Michael Moore that I have seen- he's so slanted to the left that I have trouble believing anything he writes or says. Perhaps if I lose my mind I'll be in the proper state to accept his work.
