I was watching Dawn of the Dead (2004) and Ty has a small but memorable role. What's strange though is that in the movie, his hair is trimmed very short and you can see that it's definitely thinning up front and receding around his temples:

Now, almost a decade later, both on Modern Family and in public appearances, his formerly thinning hair has miraculously become full and thick.

If he did get hair plugs, why didn't he fill in the receding temples?

To make it less obvious. Or maybe his natural hairline has receded temples, so he only had the front filled in.

He probably just has really thin hair, like I have long curly hair but if I trim my hair a lot it looks just like Ty burrells

I agree with Stacy, it looks like he just grew it out some. But it is definitely dyed black now.

Ty Burrell has one of the most obvious toupees I've ever seen. What are you lot on?
