Candace seems like a nice woman, but...
She really needs to shut up. Her argument for the couple that refused to bake the cake barely holds any water, and she doesn't know what "freedom of association" means.

sharePeople like her in my opinion epitomize this quote:
"Religion is an insult to human dignity. Without it, good people would do good things, and bad people would do bad things. But for good people to do bad things, that takes religion".
So i guess when a gay couple owned printshop is asked by a christian patron to make 1000 flyers with "please come help us rally in opposition to gay couples adopting children" you agree the printshop owner needs to comply or loose their buisness and pay a large fine? No discrimination for anyone correct?
shareThat's different, though. Of course they wouldn't do that, just the the Christians shouldn't be expected to do the same if the situation was reversed. However, there's a difference between not supporting the LGBT community and not associating with them. One can have many Homosexual friends/family members but not condone or support the LGBT community but when you choose not to associate with them all together, that's when it becomes an issue. It's snobby and the sad part is that these people use religion to justify this type of thing. Personally, I don't feel like using the name of Christ to justify discrimination is a good thing. How is it "loving" to not associate with a certain group or community?
Respect what you have 🌌
I agree it's not a loving attirude not to associate with a certain group i whole heartily thi k christian should make the effort to form friendships with people of dicferent backgrounds. However i don't see how not making a cake as a way of staying disassociated with a gay ceremony is descrimination. The bakers in oregon who lost their buisness had done birthday cakes for the gay couple previously. They had no problem serving gay patrons. It was being asked to contribute to a specific action that they were uncomfortable with. There is a big difference.
shareI (dis)respectfully disagree. The notion that religion makes "good" people do bad things is absurd. I don't even like to separate people into "good" and "bad" that much.
shareHow is baking a cake "associating" with them? What exactly makes them uncomfortable about making a wedding cake for a gay couple? Discrimination. They weren't asked to do anything other than that.
Don't start a damn wedding cake business if you're not going to serve them to ALL couples.

People forget that the reason Christians get "saved" is because they ARE sinners and cannot change on their own. Therefore needing Jesus who died for their sins so they could be saved.
