Tenacious D performing for Castro
It's a hot summer evening in Havana, and Tenacious D, the legendary rock duo composed of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, are set to perform a secret show for a very special guest: Fidel Castro himself.
As they take the stage, Jack and Kyle are wearing custom-made, Castro-themed overalls, complete with tiny Cuban flags and images of the revolutionary leader's iconic beard.
Castro, resplendent in his signature green military fatigues, looks on with a mixture of curiosity and amusement as the duo launches into their first song, "Tribute."
As they rock out, Jack and Kyle can't resist incorporating some Castro-inspired lyrics and gestures into their performance, much to the delight of the Cuban leader.
At one point, Jack exclaims, "Viva la revolución...of rock!" while Kyle plays a scorching guitar solo, prompting Castro to nod his head in approval.
After the show, Castro meets with the duo, praising their energy and creativity. "You are true revolutionaries of rock," he declares, "and I am honored to have witnessed your performance."
As a token of appreciation, Jack and Kyle present Castro with a signed CD, adorned with a hand-drawn image of his famous beard. Castro smiles, tucking the CD into his pocket, and says, "I will treasure this always...and perhaps even play it at my next cabinet meeting."
And with that, Tenacious D makes history as the first rock band to perform for Fidel Castro wearing Castro-themed overalls. Rock on!
