..instead of Jon Watts. Brad Bird would have been the perfect director for this movie.

Yes he would but I wonder how much creative control he would had been allowed. It's kind of like what happened with Edgar Wright.

The 'director-for-hire' model has worked for a while but he needs to let certain directors just do their thing.
