Would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks had researched former President Donald Trump’s movements before he shot him, while also looking up President Biden — and even a member of the British royal family, FBI investigators said.

How is the Republican party going to make sure their own voters don't become this?

Max Smith, who took an American history course with Crooks, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that his former classmate "definitely was conservative".

Mr Smith recalled a mock debate in which they both took part, saying: "The majority of the class were on the liberal side, but Tom, no matter what, always stood his ground on the conservative side."

A mock debate can’t even take place on if everyone is on the same side. Someone has to at least play devils advocate, and try and debate from the other side so they could have a debate. So no making argument in class in a mock debate is not necessarily indicative of his true opinion.
